Hitachi has developed a system to mill cross sections or polish sample surfaces with an argon ion beam focusing on optimal surface quality and easy use. Clean cross sections without mechanical tracks or contamination and perfect for further analysis with IR-microscopy or SEM. Depending on the requirements two different systems are available the IM4000 II or the IM5000 Ar-Blade.
